KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assess the needs and interests of underserved girls in tribal communities on the Leech Lake reservation and surrounding areas.
- Expand the range of Girl Scout offerings on the Leech Lake Indian Reservation and ensure sustainability of the program by identifying, training and mentoring successful volunteer leaders.
- Develop presentation and volunteer recruitment materials that address the unique needs of the area.
- Work with other Girl Scout staff to ensure programming, volunteer management and funding opportunities for the program.
- Secure and manage a strong volunteer database to assist with the Girl Scout program.
- Research and collaborate with community sites, agencies and other entities to extend the program.
- Uphold the mission and vision of Girl Scouts and serve as a representative for the Girl Scout agency in outside contacts.
- Promote Girl Scout program activities.
- Attend regular staff and supervisory meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidate must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident 18 years of age or older.
Must possess a vehicle that can be used for occasional service-related travel. (Mileage reimbursement provided for this.)
High school graduate is a must. Some college is preferred.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of or willingness to learn the Girl Scout program, principles and standards.
Sensitivity to issues affecting girls and communities with limited resources, including culturally diverse communities.
